Education Subject Guide: Databases

Types of Resources

When searching databases in the education subject area, you will find different types of resources, such as:

Research articles, which are scholarly, peer-reviewed articles about research in the discipline. These articles provide evidence-based support that can be used in practice, or used to support further research.

Practitioner journals, which contain articles written for current practicing teachers and administration. These articles focus on the practical application of the ideas or teaching methods presented.

Lesson plans, which can be found by adding the term "lesson plans" to your search.

Education Databases

Education databases are a good place to start when looking for information for research and practice.

Psychology Databases

Psychology databases can be helpful when researching topics in education that are related to psychology, especially theoretical topics or psychological concepts such as learning disabilities and learning theory.
