Exam Description

All employees of any agency that are granted the full rights and powers under the definition of a peace officer as defined by the P.O.S.T. Act must be certified by P.O.S.T.

For POST testers, we offer the Next Generation Accuplacer, consisting of Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. For more information about POST, you may view their website at: https://www.gapost.org/ee_info.html

Who is the exam for?

Applicants to P.O.S.T Certification in Georgia.

What GHC locations offer this exam?

Cartersville and Floyd

How much does this exam cost and where can I pay?


Charge for the exam can be paid the day of testing at the Business Office or business office representative at each location.

What items can I bring to the test?

You are required to bring a government-issued photo ID with signature (driver's license, passport, state ID, military ID) that is current and valid.

The Testing Center will provide all other materials.

How do I register for the test?

E-mail testing@highlands.edu to schedule a test date.

How will I get my scores?

You will receive scores when you have completed the exam. Proctors can print out an official copy for you to take with you and to be given to P.O.S.T.

When are the exams offered?

Availability is determined on a case-to-case basis. Testing is generally available Monday – Thursdays.
