Google Scholar: How to Configure Google Scholar

Google Scholar and GALILEO

To use Google Scholar in conjunction with GALILEO and with the GHC Library GIL-FIND Catalog, you'll need to make a couple of small changes to the Google Scholar Preferences.  This process works best if you already have a Google account (gmail or other Google service) and are logged in to that account, but it will also work as an anoymous user.

To configure Google Scholar, follow these steps:

First, go to Google Scholar and locate the Google Scholar Settings link at the top-right of the page:

Next, on the Preferences page, look toward the left of the page for Library Links. Click on this option.  In this search box, enter "Highlands" and from the list of results, choose the two options for Georgia Highlands College.

Next, in the same box, enter "Georgia regents"  and from the list of results, choose both:

"Georgia Library Services Board of Regents - EBSCOhost Full Text"

"Georgia Library Services Board of Regents (FindIT Full Text) - Full Text@GALILEO."

You should then see a screen that looks like this:

BE SURE TO CLICK "SAVE PREFERENCES" at the bottom right of the screen.

You are now ready to start searching!
