Book Finding Tips

Our materials can be located on the Cartersville campus, the Floyd campus, or they could be NetLibrary ebooks that you can access on a computer here on campus or from home.

If you are on the Cartersville or Rome campus, you can request a book be sent to you from one of our other locations using the steps provided below, but you currently must use the Classic GIL catalog (GIL) to make requests: 

  1. select the item you would like to have from the list of titles
  2. select Request at the top of the page
  3. sign on to your account using your 9000 number
  4. select Intercampus Request from the drop down menu
  5. type in your 9000 number, make sure your pickup location is accurate, and select submit request
  6. our courier service normally runs on Tues. and Thurs. in the mornings; we'll try to have your items delivered in the next courier run

How to begin: Enter a keyword in the search box above & execute your search. Example: Type Poe into the search box and select "Go"This will route you to GHC's online catalog which contains information about materials in our physical collection. Search our catalog to locate books, DVDs, reference materials, microforms, access to full text e-Books (through NetLibrary), magazines, journals, newspapers, and many other resources.

If you don't find what you need in GHC's Online Catalog, try the GIL Universal Catalog next:                                                                                                         

Use the GIL Universal Catalog to locate materials available from the library collections of the University System of Georgia institutions. Current GHC students, faculty, and staff may request materials not owned by GHC to be sent to them from other USG libraries through the GIL Express service.
