Rehabilitation Plan
Purpose
Research papers are perhaps the most common writing assignment in college. You will write many of them before you graduate. This assignment, along with the other assignments in this cycle, will give you a chance to develop a personalized process for writing good research papers that should increase your success with research-based writing assignments in other classes throughout your college career.
However, this assignment is more than a research paper because, outside the classroom, research is done for a specific purpose. Journalists research the background of issues and people before conducting interviews; businesses research markets and competitors before pouring money and resources into a new venture; and researchers in all scientific and medical fields must learn what is already known about a problem and what has already been tried before they begin experiments of their own. In each example, the research is an early step in a larger project.
The last project of your "internship" for Prestige Public Relations will involve a research paper and the creation of two multimedia items. You are going to choose an organization or individual in your community who has a blemish on their reputation to be your fictitious client. You will research an issue related to that blemish, and then use that research to develop a small public relations campaign to rehabilitate the client's reputation.

- includes source material from more than one source in each body paragraph to demonstrate corroboration between sources on each subtopic

Analysis and Plan (May be done with a partner)
- In a separate document, answer the following questions in 2-3 paragraphs (1/2 page minimum):
- What did you learn from your research that can combat the slight on your client's reputation?
- What message will your rehabilitation campaign communicate about your client?
- How will this message repair the client's reputation? Distract from the other issue? Prove the client innocent in the original matter?
- Revise your answers, so that your Analysis and Plan:
- utilizes MLA-style for document formatting, in-text citations, and the Works Cited list
- is written in a formal tone (1st and 3rd person point-of-view, but not 2nd-no you/your)
- Proofread.
- Submit your Analysis and Plan to this assignment folder.*
Multimedia Samples (May be done with a partner)
- Create 2 multimedia samples from the list of options provided.
