Basics of Statistics

Whether a cholesterol study, the state budget report or even batting averages from local high school games, statistics are everywhere in today’s world.   Sources such as research journals, magazines, newspapers, the Internet, and television constantly give us information in the form of statistics.   This submodule discusses why we should study statistics and formally defines the branch of mathematics called statistics.
