How to use this guide

We will be meeting four times. Each session has its own introduction page, and sub-pages with content for that session.  The content for each session will be released before the class meets.

 

Information Literacy Objectives

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Articulate the attributes of resources located in library database.
  2. Articulate the attributes of internet search results.
  3. Search the library catalog in order to locate an appropriate resource.
  4. Differentiate between types of source materials (e.g., books, journal articles, websites, newspapers).
  5. Build an effective search strategy including determining keywords.
  6. Refine and narrow searches using built-in database limiters.
  7. Cite sources correctly in the appropriate documentation style.
