The Library Renovation Project
Floyd Campus Library
Spring 2011
In February 2011, the GHC Floyd Campus Library began a much-needed building renovation project. Major features of the project will include:
- New energy-efficient lighting fixtures throughout the building
- New ceiling tiles throughout the building
- New paint throughout the building, including an aesthetically pleasing color scheme
- New carpet throughout the building
- New entry arrangement with new doors
- Installation of a new ADA-compliant security gate
- Renovation of restrooms to provide updated facilities that meet ADA compliance
- Rearrangement of shelving to provide wider aisleways and improved aesthetics
- Construction of a library instruction classroom/computer lab with 28 new computers
- Three new group/quiet study rooms
- A section of the library to be dedicated to quiet study
- Expanded workspace for library faculty & staff
- Expanded processing space
- Rearrangement of periodical shelving to create an open, welcoming reading space
- A wall dedicated to displaying artwork by students, faculty, and staff
- ...And many more features to enable the library to provide the best services and resources to Georgia Highlands College students, faculty, and staff at the Floyd Campus
