Citizenship Project

eFolioWorld assignment 2 will guide you through the processes of research and Service Learning. Service Learning at Georgia Highlands College is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, promote academic excellence, and teach civic responsibility while serving genuine community needs. The FCST 1010 Service Learning project, THE CITIZEN PROJECT, has you connecting with an organization in your community, who works with a socio-political issue that you, personally, care about. Over the first eight weeks of the semester, you will identify an issue of interest from your community, establish contact with a non-profit organization where you can volunteer for 10 hours of service, research your issue and organization, and finally share your experiences with the world by posting them to your eFolioWorld electronic portfolio. Each of your intructors are working on their own projects and portfolios, which should serve as an example for you.
