ENGL 1101 - Schnee - Spring 2011: Find books elsewhere!

LibGuide for Prof. Schnee's English Composition I course.

How do I search for books from public libraries or from other states?

WorldCat searches thousands of libraries around the world! If you find a book from a public library or from a library out of the state, use our Interlibrary Loan Form to request it.

Where else can I find books?

If you need a book NOW and we don't have it, here are a few other ideas:

  • If you find a book at another nearby USG college - but don't have time to wait for delivery - go get it yourself. Just bring in your GHC Student ID and you can check it out. When you're done with it, just drop it off at the GHC library and we'll send it back for you.
  • Visit your local public library's website and search their catalog. Don't forget to reserve the item online and/or call the library to make sure it's availble before you make the trip!
  • Search for your book at Borders.com or BarnesandNoble.com. Both booksellers let you search the inventory of local stores and then reserve books for pickup.
  • Call local used book stores.
  • Check with your parents or friends.
