Anyway, I'm the GHC Marietta librarian.

COMM1100 Source Citation Activity

 5 minutes: Presentation of activity. Divide class up into 4 groups of 6 each. Assign each group a type of source: websites (NOT Wikipedias), newspapers/popular press magazines, books, journals. As a group, answer the following two questions:

Question 1: Can you multitask?

Question 2: Should you multitask?

Stipulations:

Must answer YES or NO

Must give at least 2 reasons why… and those reasons have to come from a source that you were assigned to research

Extra credit: if you can support your claims using a video found via the library databases (NOT youtube or hulu), or other visual aid from library databases

Group work time: 30 minutes

Last 15 minutes: each group gets 2-3 minutes to share their answers and their sources, de-brief on who had the most persuasive answer. Make sure to say your source:

            The author

Where it came from (website? Name of newspaper/magazine? Name of journal? Name of book?)

            When it was published

            Where it was published

            Who published it
