Why is it Important?

Information literacy skills will be important in your college career. You'll have asignments such as research papers and group presentations where information literarcy skills are required to earn a good grades. But the're also REALLY important in your everyday life. They can be used in your job.  The ability to find, evaluate, use and share information is an essential skill in many positions. They're important in making informed consumer decisions, such as which car or vacuum cleaner to purchase. You can also use these same skills to research and make decisions on important issues like what political candidate or platform to support.

Information Literacy and the Library

One of the missions of our library is to help our students become information literate. We do this through our LibGuides, library instruction classes and helping students one on one with their research.
